Guardian zapping noise is looped when played

When a guardian zaps something with its laser, perhaps a squid or player, the sound will loop until "/stopsound @p" is used

can confirm this for 1.14 pre release 5, on multiplayer lan, where both myself and friend could hear the looping sound. very annoying and loud

Relates to MC-57057

Sonicwave

I ran into this twice, but can't reproduce it reliably; most of the time the sound fails to play even though the subtitle shows up, and when it does play it plays normally (except for the two times where it looped as described in the report).

I can confirm this is an issue in 1.14 release, it doesnt go away even after i walk away from the gaurdian farm.

confirmed for 1.14, happened to me three times

They also seem to "stack". While conquering an ocean monument you end up with several of the attack sounds playing continuously.

How is this resolved as fixed when the bug does not show up as a fixed bug in the "Bugs fixed" list for release 1.14.1?

violine1101

The bug is marked as fixed for "Future version - 1.14+", signifying that this bug will be fixed in the next release.

migrated

So what your saying is that the bug is technically not fixed but will be in 1.14.2?

violine1101

Correct, bugs can only be fixed by a new update.

migrated

Then why is it marked as resolved? I'm sure all sorts of bugs are being discovered the Mojang and/or you guys need to deal with

violine1101

Mojang is working internally in their development environment. There they can change the game, add new features, and fix bugs. This version of the game is not available to anyone but the developers who are working on the game. When a bug is fixed in that version of the game, the ticket is marked as "Resolved".
Then, a development version is released. In this case, this will be 1.14.2 Pre-Release 1. That version is tested for a bit, and if it still contains too many issues, another pre-release will follow. You can opt into these versions of the game with the launcher (however, they're usually rather unstable and contain loads of issues.)
After that, once Mojang decides that it's time for a new release, 1.14.2 will be released.

Ah, ok. I believe I understand now. I did not realize that such a thing existed.
