Chunk rendering is slow and random in 1.14.1 (pre 1)

When you position yourself on an unloaded (invisible) chunk you can see that the blocks if selected with the pointer are there and you can even see their hitbox but as said before these are invisible. It's less common in 1.14.1 pre 1, but still occurs.

Looks like someone was quicker than you... resolving as duplicate of MC-151082

@violine1101 it seems that bug you linked to is different from this one. Here is problem with chunk rendering, there is problem with mspt (miliseconds per tick)

Indeed, I intended MC-151082 to be focused on the server-side lag. I agree it would be better to have separate reports, even if they seem like symptoms of the same underlying problem.

Reopened, thanks. You mentioned the other ticket in the old ticket about this, which was a client-side only issue. Hence I thought you created the new ticket about that rendering issue.

Yeah sorry, I wasn't very clear with my original comment because at the time I wasn't sure about the distinction between the two problems.

You can trigger this glitch by lowering your frame rate. At 10 fps, it's highly noticeable.

I can confirm that the bug has been fixed in 1.14.1 Release!

violine1101

Waiting for @unknown and/or others to confirm that as well. As far as I can tell, there haven't been any changes between 1.14.1-pre2 and 1.14.1.

@violine1101 Having just spent a good bit of time on my server riding a very fast horse I can say two things with confidence.  General performance in 1.14.1 is worse than 1.13.2, and the bug with chunks not rendering looks solved.  I was not able to 'outrun' a single chunk.  1.14 is now officially playable for those of us previously afflicted, thanks.

I can confirm that 1.14.1 has improved chunk loading for me. I was dealing with the same issue.

This bug persist, and for me 1.4.1 has worse chunk loading that any of its pre-releases, this has really gotten tiresome for me, my drive to play is just gone with the constant server and rendering issues of 1.14

Still a issue 1.14.1 My server pop has gone from 30 daily active players to 5 since 1.14 released. Please prioritize performance.

For me, the first 1.14.1 update fixed the issue of extremely slow chunk loading. then today I started playing and another download update of 1.14.1 and the problem is back - unplayable chunk loading, (I am building an intricate structure in creative that's 200+ blocks wide)

1.14.2 is not an exception, can't even fly with elytra.

I play on a realm, and as a result, I have no way of really digging into any of the server-side aspects of the bug (that I'm aware of, anyway). My realm features a Large Biomes map for a few friends and I to run around and explore. Because we're going to end up getting separated, my intention is to set up teleports for us to easily connect to each others builds.

Unfortunately, the performance in 1.14.x has been more than a little lackluster. If I set up a teleport to the world's surface, I will routinely get stuck in the ground. If I'm any lower than ~20 on the y axis, there is a possibility that you will fall through the unrendered chunk and die to the void.

I can't speak to how it was in 1.13.2, as I wasn't playing much then, but this is more than a little annoying. I've died once to falling through the world, and I hope it stops at that. I was previously playing on higher graphics settings, but turned them down because I thought maybe that could have contributed to the problem. It wasn't. I didn't die until I turned them down.

On my server with pure 1.14 world with 2 people exploring the overworld and generating new chunks, one of them on horseback and second one with speed potion, server TPS dopped to as low as 10, creating huge lags and making the server unplayable (restart needed). Chunks generating in 1.14.3 seem to be better than in 1.14.2 but is still way too slow comparing to 1.13.2. Couple of players exploring or only one with elytra is still overkill, even to dedicated high-end server like mine (Xeon 4-cores and 16 GB RAM).

this subject is not "resolved" at all !

when will they fix it ? !

violine1101

@unknown, please do not spam. If you encounter chunk loading issues in the latest version of Minecraft, please file a new ticket.

Consider this a warning.

It's extremely slow after entering the nether, I could be trying to walk for about 5 seconds then freeze there and then only I started to begin walking (Im using a new powerful phone with 8 GBS of ram and plenty of storage left)
