Mobs with fire resistance still appear to catch fire when swimming in lava

Expected behavior: mobs with fire resistance should never appear to be on fire.

Observed behavior: mobs with fire resistance look like they are on fire when they are in contact with lava.

To reproduce: either find a mob with natural fire resistance (zombie pigmen, the player in creative, etc) or throw a splash potion of fire resistance at any old mob, and push it into lava.

This is particularly jarring with ghasts, which transform into giant fireballs whenever they fly into one of the many lavafalls in the Nether, and extremely distracting for the player in creative mode because the first person view will be obstructed by fire.

It could be argued that the fire resistance only counters the damage from the fire effect, not the fire effect itself.

Resolving as invalid as this is more a suggestion than a bug. Please post suggestions at http://goo.gl/7qGlN

Although you are right that fire resistance only counters the damage from the fire itself it also totally negates all fire damage, including blaze's fireballs. I also feel it's more of a glitch due to the very detrimetial experience PvPing with fire aspect weilding oppoents as the whole fight you can't see half your feild of view even though you're not even threatended by the fire itself. Hiding the HUD is a solution but it will prevent you from seeing your lifepoints bar.

And it would look better over-all.

I noticed this quickly on spectator mode, by going into lava. I don't understand how something that can phase through walls, unaffected by anything else, can "catch fire".

This is a parity issue, in Bedrock Edition it will prevent you to catching fire.
