Explosion damage can be blocked by fire

Fire seems to be able to block explosion damage. When causing an end cristal to explode while it's sitting on fire, like it's the case in the naturally generated end crystals in the end, the player takes way less damage than expected.

Original description

Even without armor and the bottom of my hitbox directly exposed to the end crystal explosions, I was only taking 1 heart of damage at most. Only happens in The End dimension, and did not happen in 1.15.

Are crystals dealing a lot of damage for you?

Is there a barrier of any kind between you and the end crystal, or are you too far away, because it does have limited range, and it can be blocked with blocks

Also, what was your difficulty?

I was on hard difficulty and there were no blocks between the end crystal.

I did some more testing. It appears it deals a lot of damage in the overworld, but not in the end. Is this intended?

I was able to reproduce this in 1.16 pre-5, and yeah, only happens in the end for whatever reason. Doesn't occur in 1.15.2.
Maybe you should tweak the summary a little bit, indicate that this only happens in said dimension.

Can confirm now. Apparently the do less damage if they are on obisidian or bedrock.

Actually, i was wrong. The real cause is the new fire hitbox introduced, if an entity explodes standing on a fire block, the damage is significantly reduced. I don't know if this issue should be rewritten or else create a new one.
