Particles render in the wrong order with transparent blocks when using certain graphics cards

Moderator Note

If you are experiencing this issue, please send details such as CPU, GPU, RAM and Operating System as a comment in this ticket.

After MC-161917 is fixed, particles now render in front of transparent blocks. On the screenshot below you can see that the hitbox is a little bit blue behind blue stained glass, and particle color is same behind the glass and when nothing is in front of it.

I couldn't replicate this issue on a:

AMD Radeon R7 370

i5 6500

8GB RAM

Windows 10 Pro

Friz64

Can reproduce.

Graphics: AMD RX 580 8GB
OS: Arch Linux (up to date as of 2020-05-29)
Java: OpenJDK 1.8.0_252 64bit
Mesa: 20.0.7
OpenGL: 4.6

Can the mods re-open MC-186288? I t was marked as a duplicate even though it's about particles rendering behind translucent blocks instead of translucent blocks rendering behind particles, which is what this report is about.

Issue in 1.16-pre1 → MC-187411

Graeme

Just tested 1.16pre1 and this issue is NOT resolved.  A quick test it placing white glass blocks and clear glass blocks as a wall. Build a roof over yourself. Set weather to rain. You can see the rain particles (failing an bouncing rain) through the clear glass, but you can't see it at all though the white stained glass.
