Various events are no longer logged

Before the command system was rewritten in 1.3.1, /tell and all failed player commands would be logged to the console and server.log. This is no longer the case. All of these logging events can occasionally be somewhat spammy, but are always very useful to the SMP staff.

This will actually have to get fixed, no matter what has been decided in the past.

In particular the usage of /me, as that is identical to 'regular chat'.

Chat messages are now not being logged at all in snapshot 12w21a. All chat messages are being recorded to server.log as:

[INFO] chat.type.text

Apparently this has been fixed, though: MC-16144

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version 1.6.2? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

Yes, there are many events that are still no longer being logged in 1.6.2.

Still impossible in 14w30c.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version 1.8.1 Prerelease 3 / Launcher version 1.5.3 or later? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

No response for a number of months.
