Hostile mobs no longer are able to spawn during daytime in Dark Forests compared to 1.16 and 1.17 versions.
This is not a misconecption about mob spawning they simply are unable to spawn under the Dark Forest canopies even when block light is 0 while they can in 1.17.
Steps to reproduce visit Dark Forests during daytime in 1.18 and 1.17 and compare.
Or make mob spawning area with ceiling made out of Dark Oak leaves and see the difference during daytime between 1.17 (mobs spawning) and 1.18 (mobs don't spawn at all)

They don't for me and i've been testing this for a long while.
Like i said you are probably confused and saw mobs leave a cave entrance or a hole in Dark Forest.
They can no longer spawn under canopies themselves even when block light is 0.
In 1.16 and 1.17 they spawn in Dark Forests normally.
I'll test it myself if you do not believe me. If there was a possibility of a mob coming out of a cave, I wouldn't comment anything. I spent long enough near a dark oak forest in the pre-releases. I cannot confirm your claims.
Making a new bug is not the right way to engage with us about this concern. Please do not do this again.

You made a duplicate of your own report despite the comment left by the developer. I cannot confirm this as the mobs still spawn in dark oak forests during daytime, and there is nothing that prevents them from doing so.
