Parity Issue: Sculk shrieker hitbox is too large

Sculk shrieker hitbox is too large, equivalent to a full block.
In Bedrock Edition it hitbox is the same as half slab.

I'd suggest making the hitbox match the mobel (slab+bones sticking out) in both editions to fix this.

I assume this proposed hitbox would be a combination of two cuboids: one for the bottom, and another that encompasses these protrusions?

That, or 5, the slab and a small one for each bone.

I think not being able to stand on the 4 protrusions is very intentional. But that’s just my opinion

The fix would be to make Java match bedrock. If they make the block hit box cover the four protrusions, it offers less room for resource packs to be creative as those would also have to have four protrusions or else those will be unintuitive. The current implementation is friendly to whatever sculk shrieker texture you make, regardless if the pack maker keeps the four protrusions or not.

Mojang might decide to change it but I’m just listing one pro of the current (bedrock) implementation

hitbox != collisionbox.

does voting for issues make them faster to be inprogress?

@@unknown, in a way, yes, the number of votes on an issue allows MOJANG to see how much attention is being given to the issue by the player community and the level of demand for a fix.

so pleaaase everyone vote for this issue

i wanted this to be fixed from a long time

also i wanted to make the sculk shrieker hitbox similar to the bedrock edition one

Can confirm in 1.19 Release Candidate 2.
