The attack indicator (the cooldown bar under the cross of the center of the screen) shows up if facing an invisible mob or player
One expects it not to, since, you know, it defeats the purpose of being invisible
Yet it does
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Make a mob or a player invisible
2. Face it with a sword or an axe or a tool in hand (attacking is NOT required)
3. Notice the attack indicator

But you were able to reproduce it: look under the cross in the middle of the screen: there is the cooldown indicator for the attack while facing the invisible mob
Seems correct. I think is WAI, however can comfirm.
Edit: I added a YouTube Video that shows why it is not WAI!
WAI means Working As Intended. The attack cooldown indicator shows even when you are facing nothing, so it is not related to whether or not you are facing a mob.
Maybe add a small description on what you mean by attack indicator when you make the report to make it less ambiguous for everyone else, a bit like how I wrote MC-259969. I also agree that this should be reopened for Mojang to review.
Reopened, and I apologize. As @unknown mentioned, I mistakenly thought that this was referring to the attack indicator showing up while recharging.
Yo, mojang, wdym it works as intended? If that's it, this is a serious design problem. Invisibility is already pretty useless in pvp AND in pve. It already is balanced because of the particles which become even more visible if one is affected by more than one status effect. One can't even wear armour. If this works as intended, at this point just remove the ststus effect altogether :|
If this isnt a bug in the program, it is a bug in the design.
My guess, this is as designed, and changing it would not be as a bug fix, but a design change (thus making this a change request).
I am unable to reproduce. Added video [REMOVED].
