Crafters behave inconsistently with droppers and dispensers and the copper bulb's delay is broken!

When droppers and other containers are filled up using a hopper the items try to stack up before going to the next slot, but when filling up a crafter they try to spread as far as possible before stacking. Also, a comparator cannot "weigh" a crafter's content, it can just detect how many of its slots are filled. This is kind-of a follow-up to MC-265910, explained by Purplers here and by gamingguidesde here.

NOTE: This bug report does NOT aim to destroy crafters even further, it actually is a request to revert crafters and copper bulbs to their 23w45a behaviour! The redstone community loved the crafter and redstone bulb because of their uniqueness, now that they both have been made more similar to completely different blocks in the game they aren't as useful anymore!

The minecraft world with the Crafty Crafter Counter and the piston wave is attached to this report, a video demonstrating it can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1p4WCrGfUkGQ0hhP2w_AnVOQY-i4tGWmy/edit?disco=AAABAsqeBfM

What exactly is the bug here? Everything you described is intended behaviour.

The community was happy with the newly-added blocks and Mojang doesn't seem to like making the redstone community happy, so they made the best blocks worse.
That's the bug.

That's a change request or feedback, not a bug.

This bug report shows inconsistencies between the Crafter and Droppers, so that's a bug. At least if MC-265910 also is a valid bug report.

The behavior you describe here was explicitly mentioned in the change log that added crafters; the behavior in that report was not, and a code analysis showed the behavior was odd to say the least. These are not comparable reports.

how is that a bug when it was intented. i dont get it

(and @turbo )

The original behaviour (at least for the copper bulb) was intended, as confirmed by kingbdogz on Twitter:

Keyword, was, the design was changed. The copper bulb change was not a bug fix.

And grieferbros, that (crafter delay being 1 tick) was not intended, as per the fixing. Any claim of it having been intended is false or a misuse of the term. Being linked by the community doesn't make something intended.
