When you have an axe in your main hand and a shield in your off hand, right-clicking on a log or waxed block raises the shield instead of stripping the log or scraping the wax respectively, unless you are pressing the crouch key.

WAI based on resolution of MC-270047

I'd like to add that the axe right-click function cease to work completely when paired with a shield, which is not the case with any other tools.
