Steps to reproduce:
Use any filled bucket
Attempt to collect anything using a single empty bucket
Observed result:
All filled buckets are deleted except when placing powder snow and drinking milk. Collecting anything besides milk with a single empty bucket deletes the bucket.
Expected result:
No buckets are lost.

Confirmed, in Vanilla Survival in 24w34a, using a water bucket to place water or using an empty bucket to pickup water both leads to the bucket being deleted.
@gord of course it is still a problem, the "Resolved" status just mean in the future update after 24w34a you will not see this bug again.
Of course it is still exist in 24w34a. Once a snapshot releases, it will never change. Bugs on that snapshot will be fixed on the next snapshot. That is the point of snapshot-style release system after all.
