Projectiles sometimes desync when thrown/shot while moving

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Equip a trident.

  2. Enter creative mode and sprint-fly.

  3. Fully charge and then throw the trident.

  4. ❌ The trident might now desync, first appearing to fall down behind the player, then disappearing, then showing for fractions of a second in weird angles, and then reappearing somewhere along its flight path.

I don’t know how to reproduce this bug consistently. Sometimes this bug occurs with every thrown/shot projectile, but often when I reload the world/press ESC/change my angle/start a recording software it stops working.

As I cannot seem to edit this bug report, please note that the trident should be charged fully before throwing it.

@J Z Site isn’t fully functioning yet as migration isn’t fully complete. I have edited the description for you.

I can reliably reproduce this bug in 25w19a with a crossbow. If you are sprinting forward, jump, and shoot the crossbow just before the peak of the jump, the desync happens almost every time. It is much more reliable in multiplayer, it happens almost every shot on my server or on my realm, but pretty inconsistent in singleplayer.
