The default head angle of adult rabbits is inconsistent with that of baby rabbits and not aligned with their line of sight

The heads of the Rabbit is rotated upwards compared to the Baby Rabbit and makes the eyes of the model misalign with the line of sight. It is also inconsistent with the Bedrock Edition model of the Rabbit.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Spawn a Rabbit with a spawn egg.

  2. Right click the Adult Rabbit with the spawn egg to spawn a Baby Rabbit

  3. Hold a carrot in your hand

  4. Turn on hitboxes.

  5. Move around

  6. Compare the head angles of both variants relative to their lines of sight when they move their heads.

Expected Result: Both rabbits should have their heads at the same angle regardless of which way they rotate.

Actual Result: The adult rabbit’s head is always oriented slightly upwards compared to the baby rabbit’s head.

Better shot of the rabbits with hitboxes on.

Can confirm in 26.1 pre-release 1

Can confirm in 26.1-pre-2.

This behavior changed slightly as of 26.1 pre-2, now when a rabbit does it’s idle animation the head angle is “fixed“ in that it reverts to pre snapshot 9 behavior where the head is in the correct default position but can no longer rotate, until the rabbit does it’s walking animation and this bug’s behavior returns.

Can confirm in 26.1 pre-3

Can confirm in 26.1 release that the head is tilted when and after the rabbit is walking. Also can confirm that the head is in the upright position and not the tilted position after idle animation and before walking animation.

Can confirm in 26.2 snapshot 3
