EDIT: Found out, all the textures are mirrored, not only the door texture.
EDIT 2 : This bug relates to: MC-190
Old error:
The doors texture in release 1.7.2 is flipped sideways, but doors still function normally, as they're supposed.

I also had the same problem when I looked at glass panes and even stained glass panes, oddly.

Seems that the fix of MC-190 has some side effects, Grum š
I can confirm this, though it seems like the textures are only flipped on the North and East sides of the block. (viewed from South and West)
I've seen the flipping on the side of the head of a bed and of a door. The west-facing side of the door has the correct texture, but the east side is mirrored. The north-facing side of the head of the bed is mirrored, but the south-facing side is fine.

Definitely caused by the fix of MC-190, can anyone please add a "relates to" link and update the description?

"2013-10-25_09.32.47().png" ... Grum obviously likes TŠT, hehe

Maybe related to the fix of MC-190
the texture of the bed on one side is wrong
Well gee, isn't this completely and utterly game-breaking?
How did they not catch this before releasing a major stable version? ._.

This wasn't caught because it only started in 1.7.2 - not 1.7.1 or before. It was part of a welcomed fix, but many textures that either utilized the bug or were patched against it became broken. Since it was such a sudden, unexpected fix which we didn't even get to text as it was only in the public release, this was missed. Only they got to see it, and it didn't occur to check such objects.
Basically, these all need patches or unpatches. Or revert the fix, which would also be bad...
Louis, what I mean is, it seems like whoever fixed it (seems like Grum) would have realized that they were changing how ALL blocks were rendered, and checked if they weren't sure.
It's funny because in MC-190 we can clearly see in the screenshots it being fixed, and offering a solution, and Grum says "The solution is actually wrong, but I've fixed the issue nevertheless" and now here we are again......
This reminds me of MC-34649 where the issue was about someone not liking stained glass not having backface culling, and then everything in the game was given backface culling..... water is still broken š
@insomniac_lemon this bug was first introduced in the 1.7.2 prerelease which was only released to the public as 1.7.2 final

Will be fixed as soon as possible:

Hurray for weird issues floating around that seem to have an easy fix and then not having an easy fix.
Fixed though.
Will this work on a different resource pack?

Fixing this didn't unfix MC-190 though, right? An overall fix was applied?
Why wait for 1.8? Why not fix it in 1.7.4?
They will fix it for the next version, be it 1.7.3 or 1.8. Just be patient, they will probably upload it once they're back from Minecon.
It's going to be fixed for 1.7.3
Look here: https://twitter.com/dinnerbone/status/398484765260513280 or look at Minecraft Wiki then go to upcoming features
Ha, I toold grum on twitter that I'm not going to wait until 1.8 as that was the original plan, but to many people complaned about this. Seriously about a week ago it said in the mc wiki under upcoming features that this would be 1.8
The fix for the bug has been delayed untill 1.8 again:

David, the minecraft wiki is not an official mojang site and is edited by random people. Dinnerbone personally said it will be fixed in 1.7.3. Who do you trust more?
@Jonathan Haas
Look near the top... It says: Fix Version/s: Future Version - 1.8?, See even here they changed it from 1.7.3 to 1.8. Also it could be that Grum fingered out how hard this bug really is to fix
David:
The fact that Fix Version says 1.8 is inconclusive, because there is no 1.7.3 in the versions list, only 1.8, with a question mark after it (https://mojang.atlassian.net/browse/MC#selectedTab=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.project%3Aversions-panel). If any changes are going to occur in 1.7.3 rather than 1.8, we won't find it out from the bug tracker. I think it's more likely, especially because of the question mark, that "1.8?" is just a placeholder for whatever the next version is going to be, and this fix will occur in 1.7.3. I got that impression from someone, I don't remember who.
@Gabriel Bertilson
I completely understand that, I just noted out that Mojang quickly shut their mouth about the fix in 1.7 and people got curios and curse decided to say that it will be 1.8 but its not 100%
No, we fixed it 5 minute after the release was out in the wild. It will be in the next future release. Be it 1.7.3 or 1.8 that doesn't matter. We always mark the future release as the next major release as we never expect to make a minor one. In this case it is very likely it will just be 1.7.3 as we've also said.
Also we didn't quickly 'shut out mouths about the fix' ā we fixed it and then flew out to Minecon, things take a bit of time. You'll see a snapshot soon with the issue resolved.
I never doubted you, Grumm š
@grum then I will keep my hopes up
The fix for this partially broke the fix for MC-190.
Fences in 13w47c now have the old rendering issue where the north/east sides render incorrectly on the outermost pieces. On the west/south sides they render fine.
Please re-open.
Also I would like to add, that the digging animation is flipped, so it's probably the same cause as for the doors.
And I can't take a screenshot while digging up a block, either when the HUD is on or off.
