Zombie pigmen have become slower than they are in 1.7.9. Also, if you let them chase you for about 30-40 seconds, they slow down to zombie speed. I did comparisons from the current version,1.7.9, to the latest snapshot.

I already had it updated to 14w11b, and I'll clear things up here. It appears that zombie pigmen (along with other mobs that used to have the old AI system like spiders and endermen) appear to ONCE IN AWHILE have a massive speed boost for some reason. Endermen have this speed boost until you hit them once. But this issue states that the zombie pigmens' NORMAL speed has been decreased, and after awhile of chasing you they slow even more to zombie speed. Compare the speeds from the current version 1.7.8 to 14w11b (before they slow to zombie speed) , their default speed is slower, and the fact they slow to zombie speed is definately a bug.
Can someone please test this for me to confirm it? This bug is pretty annoying... I haven't found any YouTube videos showing it...
I tested 14w34c vs 1.7.9. survival hard and normal difficulty.
In 1.7.9 the zombie pigman follows the player with almost the same running speed. I was moving backwards.
In 14w34c the zombie pigman running speed is a bit slower compared to 1.7.9. After less then one minute, his speed is decreased (fast walking) but he still follows the player. If the player hits him again, he starts running again.
Well, considering that zombie pigmen share code with zombies, and in 1.8 they were givin almost identical AI (allowing them to track from 40 blocks), it may be a code issue. Probably not intended.
The wiki states that Zombie Pigmen forgive after 20-39.95 seconds, losing the speed boost (while unable to find an "official" source, it has been there for 5 months).
Checking this AI change/bug report with a Mojang member would be helpful and appreciated.

MC-52824 is claming the opposite.
