Villager Farmer leaves his house and works at night, going outside to harvest (new) grown crops/potatoes/carrots.
I expected that villagers stay in their houses at night to prevent them from zombie attacks, no matter if they have work to do outside. (they could finish their work daytimes, right?)
Maybe the priority to stay safe and to not go outside in the night is too low, so that the farmer still harvests at night.
This issue occurs even when mob spawning is turned on (easy/normal/hard mode).
To recreate this do the following:
build a house for a villager
build farmland near the house
spawn a farmer villager near the house
set up some crops/potatoes/carrots on the farmland and let it grow

Maybe when they can't become zombies (no matter the time), they do their work. Maybe this is intentional.
maybe they are not scared ... tried it with two different farmer-villagers - same problem. (and it's not just getting up early - they work in the middle of the night 😉 )
Yeah just a bit of MC humor.
Exposing themselves to danger at night doesn't seem right.
The villager is planning on commiting suicide because he supposedly failed at life.
Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. If this has been done, we can reopen the issue.
