Wolves will immediately aggro and track skeletons through walls even without line of sight or a valid path. If wolves are tamed, they will continue to track the skeleton instead of following the player. This only seems to affect skeletons, not other hostile mobs. Is reproducible.

Video showing bug in action. Attached .webm also.

Confirmed. I have had reports of this in my map testing.

Confirmed. It's annoying when my wolf stops attacking skeletons in the killing chamber because it could see through the ground and saw a clogged skeleton in the spawner room, trying to attack it.

still present in 14w28a

Confirmed in 14w32d

And in 14w34b. One way to justify a WAI is that the dogs can smell the skeletons.

Confirmed in 1.8 in Creative. A wolf started chasing after a skeleton and did not even teleport to the player even when 50+ blocks away until it killed the skeleton.

1.8.7
Confirmed tamed dogs see skeletons through solid walls. However, dogs will teleport to me even if they are trying to kill the unreachable skeleton.
Perhaps the teleport error was related to the old bug where animals would not teleport into air blocks, and there is no grass in superflats?

Confirmed for Minecraft 1.9
