When an Ender Dragon dies because of the explosion of a healing Ender Crystal, the healing animation will still stay until the Ender Dragon is "gone".
How to reproduce:
/summon PrimedTnt ~ ~ ~ {Fuse:20,Riding:{id:EnderCrystal,Riding:{id:EnderDragon,Health:0.05}}}
I highly recommend to do this in an extra world and not in a normal survival or creative world because of the explosion of the Ender Crystal and the Ender Dragon

Okay I retested this in 31a and I did see the healing ray, but I don't understand why it's a problem. It doesn't destroy the world file. The ray is only visible for a few seconds, doesn't affect the death of the Dragon and disappears when the portal appears.
The command summons an Ender Cyrstal with a Dragon, the crystal "shooting" at the dragon. I consider that works as intended. Why is this a problem for you?
I think when I tested it in 30c, the ray was being visually blocked by the dragon.
It is a bug because the ender crystal exploded already but still has the healing animation, not a big bug I know but still a bug
Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. If this has been done, we can reopen the issue.

Confirmed in 1.8.3. Occurs any time the crystal is destroyed during the death animation, not just if the crystal was the cause of death.
