Sound of placing a torch is incorrectly oriented

When I place a torch on the left side of the screen, the sound plays in my right ear and vice versa.
How to reproduce it:
Make a 1-wide corridor and place a torch on one side. You'll hear the sound on the other side.

Swap your speakers/headphones/ear-buds around.

I only have it with torches in a one wide corridor, the other sounds are correct.

Not sure if it's fixable since either way, the torch is being placed on the same block (and I've heard that sounds only play from the North-West corner of a block).

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. If this has been done, we can reopen the issue.

Keep in mind that the "Resolved"-Status on this ticket just means "Answered", and that we are waiting for further information on whether this issue still exists or not. We will reopen it as soon as the requested information has been delivered.

It still occures in the latest release.
But I think Sonicwave is right: the torch is being placed in the same block, so it might not be fixable.

Ticket resolved as incomplete, because no answer in a reasonable amount of time (1+ year), if it still happens, please update the ticket.
