This glitch has been around for me personally for a very long time, but I have yet to find a solution. It used to be that this glitch was not nearly as bad and everything was still operable, but it's come to the point where minecarts just do not work anymore.
When in motion, the character shifts around in the minecart and is not fully seated; this leads to glitching into walls and actually getting the minecart stuck sometimes. If you were going to turn a corner rapidly in a cave, your screen would flash because you're going in and out of the walls and corners around you; it's quite annoying to have a flashing screen and you can't see anything ahead because of it.
The cart itself doesn't appear to even be on the rails at all when turning corners! The cart now gets stuck at corners and loses a significant amount of momentum to the point of the entire rail system being broken. I originally thought it was the world, since it is quite old, but even starting a new world this bug is still present! I've tried to research it but it seems as if my client is the only affected one.
The images below are of my roller coaster that I've built. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jb1RxmOpxPs – This is the video recorded two years ago; the bug is actually still in effect, but not nearly as bad as it is now.
Does anybody know the problem and how to fix this disaster?

I am not using mods; this is a vanilla version of Minecraft. It seems my client is the only affected one, and starting a new world actually doesn't fix it. I have no idea what to do either.
This tends to happen when the minecart is on an incline when you mount it. I have not experienced it on flat rails.
I tried what you mentioned as far as the incline, but I see no difference between the incline start or the flat rail start; the glitch still remains to both.
Affects 1.9 pre-4. Entities in minecarts are often quite offset from the center of the minecarts, and the minecarts are sometimes offset from the rail, especially after turning around sharp corners.
Is this still an issue in the most recent versions (currently that is 1.10.2, or 16w42a) of Minecraft? If so, please update the affected versions and help us keeping this ticket updated from time to time. If you are the owner/reporter of this ticket, you can modify the affected version(s) yourself.
I've never seen anything like this in vanilla. Are you using any mods?
