Yeah this and the knockback from wind charges should both be changed. Blast Protection is supposed to protect against damage not negate any knockback taken. This is a huge oversight if unchanged.
Not fixed as of 1.21 Release.
I was able to reproduce in single player both with crossbow and dispenser in 24w18a in a fresh world (default simulation distance 12 chunks). I tried turning simulation distance down to the lowest setting (5 chunks) and it had no noticeable effect. Maybe there is something specific that triggers the bug for some in single player but not others.
Upon testing further it also does affect single player. Updated the bug report to reflect that.
Confirmed for 1.20.4
This could be working as intended.
This has practical survival applications like parkour courses where you intentionally hit armor stands/minecarts to boost yourself to a higher platform. To allow players practice this in creative mode would mean that this behavior should stay.
I can confirm that this is the case. To reproduce 1. Get a mace with Level 3 Wind Burst enchantment 2. Hit a mob with the mace knocking yourself over 4 blocks upwards. 3. Observe that the player takes fall damage.
I think this is a bug as mace hitting any mob is supposed to negate all fall damage, this bug prevents that.
Fixed in 23w35a
Good luck @smithcl,
This has been going on with my two daughters on their accounts in the exact same way you described for what feels like years now.
There has never been any resolution or fix that Mojang has come forward with that worked.
There has never been any possible solution that has been mentioned that worked.
We have tried to find this so called ghost person but never have.
Now one of my daughters just play on my account so they can play together... at least until it happens again.
Upon further investigation, the cost in experience levels to rename an item also scales with the number of repairs performed on the item using the anvil. The cost of renaming also increases at a rate 2^n levels (where n is the number of enchantments or repairs). I've updated the description to reflect this as it is now clear that the bug is that the game overwrites the repairs/enchantment cost to the rename cost.
It just fixed itself on its own. I'm guessing a server was down.
Running into this issue too. Worked fine up until yesterday. Can't log in with the client, can't log in on the website, can't login on the website on my phone on my mobile network. I just get an "InternalServerError: some exception happen" on the website login with the microsoft account.
Nice Data @unknown!
I don't think this issue is disputed. It's been marked as plausible, and assigned to Hendrik who we know is dealing with the world generation issues - of which they have been revising every snapshot. They also said that the change in world height had caused a lot of deep issues in the generation - so much so it contributed to splitting the releases in two. The fact the issue persists in a lot of the snapshots suggests to me, some deep rewriting of old code is being undertaken probably caused by world height changes.
Besides all you have to do is create a few worlds in 1.16 and then in the snapshots and enter spectator mode and fly around in the ravines. You'll notice visible iron is often absent entirely in ravines in the snapshots and you'll only find a few blocks in the deep dark.
However - What I'd like to add this thread is that this issue is also in 21w18a, the latest snapshot, but hasn't been marked as so yet.
No, it's not anymore since they reverted the world height in 21w15a.
I agree with Karol, 4-6+ times more copper than iron after running around massive tunnels and caves while trying to speed run on about 10 different worlds. It's almost to the point that you can't find enough iron to replace pickaxes that you break trying to find iron. Not a lot of iron either is visible in the tunnels and caves - unlike copper. It doesn't seem to make sense to me. There was an earlier snapshot with this problem... I wonder if the problem was accidentally reverted again in this snapshot.
Having this same issue on xbox series x beta. It's only happening on one account that I can tell. World owner loads world, second account tries to join (splitscreen) and it just sits loading terrain. Let me know if I can get you anything to help this along.
Probably not a bug. Farmland doesn't revert to dirt unless a full block or block with a face on the bottom is placed on top. For example, you can also place an end rod or fence gate on top of farmland and it won't revert. This change was made back in 1.15.
I can't get past the mojang red screen on my ps4
Still in 1.16.2
This behavior still occurs in vanilla 1.21.1 when the AI is deactivated. This bug should be reopened.
