Suicide from potions gives player a point in playerKillCount

while making a pvp map i realized as I was trying to kill myself with potion that when I did kill myself with potion, it added a point to my scoreboard. It was only me on the server and no one else so I couldn't be killed by anything. I have animals and mobs disabled.

Confirmed in 13w06a.

Confirmed still happening in 14w06b. Suicide with Splash Potion of Harming causes the score to increment by one for the player who killed themself.

Confirmed for 14w32d

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version 1.8.1 Prerelease 3 / Launcher version 1.5.3 or later? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

Tested today to still be happening in 1.8.3. Game mode should technically be Survival and Adventure.

Why is this considered a bug? The scoreboard was doing exactly what it was supposed to- counting the number of kills. It shouldn't matter who you killed.

The fixed behavior is correct. I'm considering to have a new stat for "accidents" (counts how of players kill themselves) some time in the future (after 1.9, not for 1.9)
