MC-91005

Some Entities/BlockEntities don't store item data correctly

  • Renamed saddles do not keep their name when used on pigs - note that horses do not exhibit this behavior

  • Renamed plants lose their name when placed and retrieved from flower pots - note that a similar issue for jukeboxes was fixed: MC-116

  • Renamed leads lose their name when used and collected

  • Chest on mule or donkey

  • Renamed containers such as chests do not keep their name when mined (Fixed in 16w35a)

This is a dupe of MC-1981. Someone changed the title to make it misleading. Its not just arrows.

This is a valid report by @unknown.
You can find the discussion to this topic here: Splitting MC-1981 (Renamed items use their data) in seperate reports

This is for all blocks. I just renamed a block of redstone into "Blöck of redstone", put it down, mined it and got "Block of redstone" back.
Edit: But that's not a block entity, maybe it's not intended because of that. Do block entites cause more lag or need significantly more space than regular blocks?

@unknown yes, they are heavier on performance, redstone blocks are no block eneities, chests, droppers, etc. are.

Is there a reason for that WAI, Grum? Apparently it was no problem to fix it for chests. And für example arrows (like all entities) already have NBT tags, so it wouldn't have disadvantages or be hard to fix.
