Falling block dropped on any boat will float above this boat in a 3x3 grid and never land

In the latest snapshot (16w06a) drop an anvil/sand or any other falling_block entity from a few blocks high on a boat. It doesn't break, but the falling_block entity glitches and never lands.

Reproduce:

  • place a boat on solid blocks.

  • in a 1 block radius (the block below the boat and the ones touching it + diagonals) any falling_block entity dropped on top of the boat in that grid will float in the air and never land.

  • you can stack up as many falling_block entities as you want in a single blockspace

  • when you destroy the boat, the blocks drop as items (if the Life tag hasn't overflown yet).

You can make beautiful structures though...

Relates to MC-90523

Because the falling sand is on the boat's hitbox.

I don't think they have the same origin.
This one with boats is probably caused by an invalid collision check of FallingSand with boats, whereas the fence report is rather caused by the fact that "wrong" landed FallingSand entities do not drop as item.

Undone last changes. Still related to MC-90523, in that case.

Seems to be fixed in 19w06a alongside MC-90523.
