The bug
The problem is what the title says, though it only seem to happen in unloaded chunks. Summon an armor stand, and teleport it into unloaded chunks, probably a far distance away. Then run "/tp @p @e[type=armor_stand]" (assuming you don't have other armor stands), and it will teleport you to as normal. The armor stand, however will be invisible

Is this still an issue in the most recent versions (currently that is 1.10.2, or 16w42a) of Minecraft? If so, please update the affected versions and help us keeping this ticket updated from time to time. If you are the owner/reporter of this ticket, you can modify the affected version(s) yourself.
Yes, it's still confirmed. Sorry, I've been in active for a long time. This still happens in 1.12-pre6. I'll post a video of this happening soon.
I was able to reproduce. The important part is
and teleport it into unloaded chunks
The armor stand will reappear once you exit the world and enter it again.
You can't teleport to an armour stand anymore using that command. But you can teleport armour stand to you. Don't know if it's a bug or you have to write in a different way. (20w17a)
I could only reproduce this when there was entities in the world (doMobSpawning
set to true
and it was midnight). 1.13.2 is also affected. I am resolving as Cannot Reproduce because:
You can use
/forceload
to load a chunkAt some point during 1.14's snapshot, chunk loading has changed, and you cannot target an entity that is not in a loaded chunk anymore
I do not know what 1.14 snapshot changed chunk loading
screenshots attached would be nice
