In the 16w04a snapshot (of report), the crossed textures of saplings, plants, etc., are not mirrored to tie in correctly.
In 1.12.1 (before then as well) - now, the pumpkin and melon stems are mirrored on the north and south faces.

This issue relates to MC-90906?

Actually, the south face is effected, in that it is completely mirrored.

This should probably be described as "UV mapping in cross.json and tinted_cross.json models is incorrect."
The actual problem is that the UV mapping is backwards on some of the faces. It can even be fixed by a resource pack which I've put together here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/12694594/CrossFix.zip
Thanks fixed.

Are melon and pumpkin stems supposed to do this as well ?
They bear this mirrored trait in 1.12.1 back to 1.8- but not in 1.4.2.
Reopened.

It's not immediately clear why this was re-opened. Shouldn't the title be edited?
Right, I changed it.

All the screenshots except for stems should be removed as those issues were fixed and the ticket now only covers stems. I have attached a resource pack with fixed stem models. It also removes shading, just like they looked before 1.8.
