Upon open any world in 24w14a, the game lags ever 4-5 seconds. I have Java 21 installed, and my computer has a 64-bit Operating System. I opened some worlds in prior versions, and can confirm this issue only occurs for me in 24w14a.

The following screenshot shows the regular lag spikes on the performance graph. The game stutters when each red bar reaches the left.
[media]We do not have enough information to find the cause of this issue.
While the lag occurs, please press F3
+ L
once, then wait a short moment until profiling has finished.
Afterwards, please attach the generated .zip
file containing the profiling results here. The file path is shown in chat; the file can be found in [minecraft/debug/profiling/<DATE>.zip|https://minecrafthopper.net/help/finding-minecraft-data-folder/]
.
If you are playing on a server please additionally run the command /perf start
to create a profiling report for the server. In case you do not have the permission to run this command, make sure that you're a server operator.
Once profiling has finished, please attach the generated .zip
file from debug/profiling/<DATE>.zip
of the server folder.

I have added a profiling log as requested. There were at least 3 instances of the lag/stutter during the log period.

I tried to generate the .zip file as requested, but doing so only brings up the advancements. I'm using an M1 MacBook Pro, running Ventura 13.0.1
Edit: Thank you David!

I think enabling ARM64 java runtime in launcher settings fixes this problem.

@AdyTech99 I think you are right. I had to restart the launcher for it to make a difference, but it certainly does seem to be a lot smoother with that option enabled. Certainly playable on a quick test.@Mention someone by typing their name...

That worked for me as well, thank you @AdyTech99
In the screenshot it seems like you only have 800mb allocated memory, while the launcher defaults the allocation to 2gb. Are you using the vanilla launcher? Have you changed the configuration?

@Maxime Lebrot No, I have not altered the installation and I am using the default launcher.

@unknown Can you try to allocate more memory and see if the issue still persists?
Hi!
Please also uninstall the Launcher, delete .minecraft folder (copy its content elsewhere before deletion) and then reinstall, restart your computer. Then please try to boot the Launcher.
This ticket will automatically reopen when you reply.

@EliteHog if you would care to explain how to allocate more memory then I am happy to try it. I don't see that as an option anywhere in the launcher.
While an unofficial guide, https://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/support/java-edition-support/3001598-tutorial-how-to-allocate-more-ram-to-minecraft explains how to do this

Thanks
The launcher options appear to suggest that it already has 2Gb allocated
-Xmx2G -XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions -XX:+UseG1GC -XX:G1NewSizePercent=20 -XX:G1ReservePercent=20 -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=50 -XX:G1HeapRegionSize=32M

i own minecraft bedrock but it shows play trial

Already Enabled ARM64, there are still lag spikes.
My case: 6GB RAM allocated and GPU Sleeping (40%), lag and low FPS

-Xmx2G option causes this problem(setting max memory instead of minimum memory)

This looks like a Java/game issue, not a Launcher issue

I'm having exactly the same issue. The same world in 24w13a does not lag, but in 24w14a the game freezes for a half second about every 10 seconds. The game is pretty much unplayable.
I'm using an M2 MacBook Air, running Sonoma 14.0. When I open a world in 24w14a it is definitely running Java 21
