When standing above a chest, you can't open it.

When playing in my survival world, i tired to open a chest while standing above it and it didn't open. I expected it to open, similarly to how it does in the PC version. But this does not happen.
Steps To Reproduce:
1. Stand at 1 level higher than a chest where you are looking down at the top.
2. Try to open.
3. Nothing happens.
