One day, I threw a fire resistance potion on a nether mob that is in lava. After a few mins, it got fire damage!
What I expected to happen was...:
When the fire resistance effect ran out for a nether mob that is in lava, it still survives and did not take any damage from lava.
What actually happened was...:
It started to take damage from lava after the fire resistance effect had run out.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Spawn a nether mob in lava, e.g. wither skeleton, zombie pigman, etc.
2. Throw a fire resistance potion on them. (2:15 mins one is recommended)
3. Wait for the effect to run out for them, it should start taking damage from lava.
Addition
The bug can also be reproduced using tipped arrows of fire resistance.

I can confirm this
I think the nether mobs starts/spawn with a endless fireresitance, after throwing a fire resistant potion the endless effect convert to a time based effect. And if the timer reach zero the mobs died... just think about that.
Version 0.14.0 build 5
Device Samsung Galaxy Note3 Android 5.0
Fixed in 0.15.90.7 beta; throwing fire resistance mob at a pigman will not change their resistance to fire/lava after it wears off.
However, there is a new bug where blazes, ghasts and wither skeletons have no natural resistance to lava - please see MCPE-17062
Confirmed on Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Android 5.1.1 Version: 0.14.0 Beta 1
