Nintendo Switch unable to connect to any server

Since updating the Switch to 1.17.0, it is unable to connect to any servers so rendering online play impossible.  The server lost will show, but all servers don't show an active player count and the Current Ping information is a loading bar.  Trying to connect to each server results in the error 'Unable to connect to world'

Steps to reproduce:

Launch Minecraft on Switch

Ensure you are signed in to your relevant Nintendo/Microsoft Account

Select Play, then go to the Servers tab

Try and join any server.

This also started happening to me once I updated to 1.17.0. I tried to connect to all of the servers in the list, only to be shown the 'Unable to connect to world.' screen.

Edit: While playing on a survival world, I got a message in the top-right corner (this is part of the Switch's UI) saying 'Server Maintenance Started'. I was able to join servers after that.

Still an issue for me. I am able to connect from Android, but not from Switch.

Potential workaround:
"So a friend figured out a workaround for getting onto servers on Switch. You need to get the ping number to load an actual number not just a loading bar. To do this, play on a creative world for a couple of minutes then it works. No idea why."

same here...

what helps sometimes:

switch from online to local network (Y on Main Screen) and back again brings servers back

This is a known issue mentioned in the 1.17.0 changelog:

Featured Servers cannot be joined by players on Nintendo Switch - we hope to have this resolved soon

I know other people said this, but I'll say it anyway.  If you want to join a server on Nintendo Switch, you can join a single-player world you made, and then once you join it, exit, and then you can join server now.  Hope that helps!

I've tried all of these solutions and it still does not work 😞

Experienced the same issue. But have a different workaround. If I start the game, I see the microsoft account login, but has a gray icon and no servers show up or work. No amount of relogging in or restarting the game works. But, If I then suspend the switch while the game is loaded, then wake the switch up and go back in. minecraft complains about a network issue. after acknowledging, it relogins to microsoft, but this time the icon comes in. then I can see / connect to the server.

The issue has been fixed as of 1.17.1.

Still having this problem 1.18.2
