When a group of falling blocks (concrete powder, sand, etc.) fall, some will break when upon landing on each other. The expected result is for them to stack up normally without breaking, Falling blocks will also unexpectedly break when the platform beneath them retracts via pistons. I have included two videos, showcasing the unexpected braking when they land, and the other showing breaking by retraction.
Edit: The two videos exceeded the 10 MB file limit. If there are any authorized 3rd party websites to upload the videos to, let me know. Thanks!

This will happen when it retracts, too. Use a horizontal sticky piston and attach a block to it while extended. Add the falling blocks onto the block attached and retract the sticky piston. The falling block closest to the sticky piston will break.
We only track one issue per ticket. The second issue you mention is already tracked at MCPE-134598, so I have revised the summary to focus on the first issue.
For this issue, please provide more precise step to reproduce. I tried placing a column of 21 sand on top of a block 3 blocks off the ground, and breaking the block. The entire column of sand fell but none of it broke. To share a video you may use any publicly-accessible file sharing site and put the link in the description.
I am experiencing this exact issue on a Bedrock realm when collecting gravel or sand. If I dig out the bottom of a stack, and a pile of gravel or sand falls down into its place, a bunch of the blocks break into items simply from landing on each other.
Resolving temporarily as Awaiting Response. Is this still an issue in the latest version of the game (1.18.31 Hotfix or 1.19.0.30 Beta)? This ticket will reopen automatically when you reply.
Cleaning up old tickets: This ticket had been set to 'Awaiting Response', but has not received a response from the reporter (~3 months+) so is being closed as Incomplete. If you feel this is still a valid issue then please comment, or create a new ticket following the Issue Guidelines which includes steps to reproduce the problem.

I think this is not a bug. The falling block only break when the bottom pistonβs head is extending, the piston head is kind of like slab block when extending
