/tp 392 64 706 facing 382 66 695
Have the second player join the world.
Expected results
The paintings near 382 66 695 stay on the wall.
Observed result
The paintings near 382 66 695 fall off the wall (break).
After getting a certain distance away from paintings, some will break. This still happens if another player is near the paintings. I would join on an alt account on my phone, then I would move far away from the paintings on my pc, and on my phone I could hear them breaking! This has been happening for quite a long time now.

I can’t reproduce this flying 200 blocks away. Please provide detailed steps including what block you are placing the paintings on and how far away you are when they break.

Thank you for your report!
However, this issue has been temporarily closed as Awaiting Response
Could you please provide more details or/and media files. As such we have no repro of this issue.
Is this still an issue in the latest version (1.17.41)? If so, can you please add it to the affected versions (or mention it if you are not the reporter).

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Play minecraft on laptop (win10) no issue.
2. Second player joins world from PS4.
3. Cry salty tears as paintings fall down, possibly due to issues with chunk borders or world loading?Observed Results:
Paintings break and fall as objects.Expected Results:
Paintings to stay on walls where placed.
I have added screenshots as requested.
I also have a short film on my phone where I can see the painting break off and fall to the ground when the second player joins, but it was too large to upload here.

I still can't reproduce this from the information given. Could you please clarify:
Is this happening on a Realm, server, or local world?
Does this happen every time the second player joins?
Exactly how far away is the first player?
Did either player load the game from a different dimension when it happened?
If the video is from the current version, could you trim it down to the most relevant part or upload it to a file sharing site like onedrive, googledrive, mediafire, etc.?

Additional information I found:
I disabled my texturepack just to be sure, it changed nothing, paintings still fall.
Paintings only fall when the second player logs in near them, when they log in far away the paintings stay up.
Logging out does not affect the paintings.
Entering or exiting the nether seems to not affect the paintings, but may then be due to distance between paintings and portal?
Only some of my paintings seem to be affected, it seems localized to a certain chunk of my house as far as I can tell, nowhere else in the world have we seen this behaviour. Also not every painting will fall every time, it seems a bit random in that area,
But always one or more painting fall there.
EDIT: Paintings fall even when I the first player is 500+ blocks away.
Wich seems to narrow it down to an issue with the second player and that specific chunk?

Thanks for the additional info. Could we get a copy of the world save?
Also, could you check where each player's bed/respawn point is relative to the paintings?

Hopefully I did that correctly ?

Hope this helps

I've hidden your video link because the video showed a GamerTag. We try to keep identifying information off of the bug tracker. Mojang will still be able to see your comment and video.
Thanks for the video, I was able to reproduce the bug. I've repackaged the world as a .mcworld file and written exact steps to reproduce in the description. It seems that the second player joining needs to be within simulation distance of the paintings.

I posted over on a different report but was directed here by a mod. I'm going to just copy and paste what I put in the other report:
1. Just had this happen today. I've loaded this world a dozen times and today when I loaded in, all the paintings in the room where I had logged out in were floating on the ground. It was just the one room and it DID occur along chunk borders. I'm guessing the chunk with the paintings loaded in first without the wall in the next chunk attached to it?
2. Just had it happen again. Interestingly enough it didn't happen when I loaded in. I checked to make sure everything was intact, then told my friend to go ahead and join. When SHE logged in I saw everything pop off. Everything was fine for me when I loaded in but a friend joining caused the issue. This was probably the case the first time as well but I wasn't paying attention for it. She noticed it that time as well. She also loads into the same room as me. Incase I didn't mention, this is a local world.

My partner and I have been working on a big castle + city build on Bedrock edition for the past few weeks and have been having issues with paintings breaking randomly. Sometimes, it happens when I first load up the world, before they even join. I've noticed it when we've left the build to gather resources.
It typically seems to be the same places over and over. We have two specific painting I have to replace every time. The two paintings are facing different directions and are in different chunks. I have attempted using a different sized painting instead over one spot, but that painting also breaks often. The painting I have tried resizing is placed over signs to create a secret room, which I assumed was the problem, but we have another secret room a few chunks away that is designed the same way and has never broken.

Unfortunately just started happening to me on my Realm....I have a lot of paintings....repaired them all....moved away for a bit and came back 2 minutes later to see some of them already gone missing....I did built a command contraption to detect if they would "fall off the wall" as you would call it but this doesn't happen.
They simply disappear 😞

I cannot reproduce this any longer in 1.20.40. The last duplicate lists 1.19.60 Preview versions, so it may have been fixed some time after that.
