Unable to add custom/community mods on Xbox

I've been a part of the Minecraft community since its first ever release. I've also been modding Minecraft since I learned that it was a thing in java. The sole fact that the company that incorporated you REFUSES to let you use your base model of PLAYER and EXPERIENCE customizability... It is absolutely astonishing.

THERE IS LARGE COMMUNITY OF US ON XBOX THAT WOULD REALLY LIKE TO HAVE THESE FUNCTIONALITIES RETURN. PlayStation 5 has these features, Windows 10 and 11 have these features, iOS and Android have these features.... WE had these features on Xbox up until about a year ago.

If I have to use the Microsoft store to buy free mods... That's dumb.. for them to even propose that to you and you consider it is a little absurd.

I would legit pay a premium for dedicated verified software (there is a group that has already made the software and is waiting for the approval of Microsoft to put it on the Microsoft store ) that allows me to safely modify Minecraft files exclusively within the file system of the Xbox whilst circumventing Microsoft's stance on modification of CONSOLE content. ***On Microsoft's web page about modification of GAMES on consoles, there is an exception to their rule as long as the creators of the game have approved it.

I feel like it is safe to say that at the very least we deserve The same game on every platform.. I understand that Microsoft wants to benefit from creators creating content on your store.. but that business model does not work for this game... And you guys need to stand up for us.

This is a bug, not a feature.. Tell Microsoft to allow modding on your game and maybe even speak on our behalf..

MCAM is a community made application that is trying to be approved to allow players a customizable experience equivalent to that of PC and PlayStation.

Forget Ray tracing, give us mods.

Again, MCAM is the application that is trying to be approved on the Microsoft store to facilitate resource pack acquisition, management, and installation.

Please help fight for us and escalate this as high as it can go.. everyone on that discord is giving up on this except it's creators... And me apparently

Since the october 5th update, the game's folder changed from the local state one to a new, different folder where it's almost impossible to access without the use of hacking or things like this.

It's still possible to add custom/community packs on Xbox, but it requires a painfull amount of steps that can put all your game progress at risk, with a chance of being lost since you need to uninstall the game and doing so may cause several problems after doing it.

The biggest issue is how we can't access the new/actual folder of the game at all. We aren't able to know what's happening with our worlds, MCPE-162878, and since the folder is different from the previous it can also give several chances of breaking it, MCPE-162920, and we aren't able to do anything to save them all.

This is the issue everyone on Xbox is facing. We can't access our worlds files. The best we can do is try to upload them on a realm, to have a chance of success, to finally download the world file at somewhere else. Otherwise, there's nothing we can do.

That is my whole point..

I think that the whole game corruption thing you stated is kind of BS.. there might be a possibility and maybe I got lucky but even then all they would have to do is put a disclaimer.

Listen, I was modding on an original Xbox One and had upwards of 10 mods at a time on multiple worlds and had no issues whatsoever with my console, the game or any other games. The worst thing that happened is that some of the mods didn't work.. which made sense because some mods clash. No big deal.

And I am sure that even if there are cases of game corruption and so forth, there are ways to reset your console. Reinstall games... There are cloud saves and like I said, if there is a disclaimer then they've covered their butt..

There are certainly ways to incorporate verification that a given mod will work and not corrupt world or a console or a game.. and if they're able to utilize error logs and such, they would probably be able to minimize those occurrences and even improve user experience.

Having a collaborative application with mojangs involvement would be the solution to the Xbox*MICROSOFT* mod fiasco.. HECK Minecraft won't even play at 120 frames per second..
They've literally locked everything down. Retraceing capabilities, frame rate, mod capabilities and compatibility, even comparing bedrock to bedrock on different platforms Minecraft looks like mush on Xbox, despite Xbox series X being more than adequate. It's a Microsoft studios game that is not optimized for series S/X. The game has been under Microsoft's thumb for so long and yet has minimal compatibility and a nerfed experience.

Bedrock looks better running on a 1050 TI 1080p then it does on Xbox 4K Microsoft clearly does not care. There are plenty of games that have multiple versions that allow the previous gen to run them.

It's just ridiculous. It's all stuff they can do but aren't.

Thank you for your report!

However, this issue has been temporarily closed as Awaiting Response.

Is this still an issue in the latest version? If yes, can you please add it to the affected versions (or mention it if you are not the reporter)?
