Minecraft capped at 54/60 FPS on iOS devices even with the fps changer

I was watching this video:

https://youtube.com/JzD2ltFppqc

It was an ipad pro 2022 minecraft test. At 1:08 in the video, the youtuber tells us the issue which is that the thing that sets your fps to what ever you want or caps it to whatever you want does not work on the device. Using his fps detector tool, he sees that whatever fps you set the game to, the fps remain at 54 fps. He tried using the same version on his iphone and the same thing occurred.

I know this issue exists on any other platform because I have seen Android phone reviews with minecrafts tests. An example of one is this video:

https://youtube.com/fSWl6WHSTv0

Skip to 4:19 for the minecraft gameplay. At 4:24 he sets his render distance and sets his fps to unlimited and at 4:34 he shows his fps in which he is getting a constantly changing fps which shows the fps setter works on other devices. It is the iOS devices that have a problem.

This has to be fixed.

This is still a problem on 1.20.50 and prevents things like 120fps on iPads with 120hz displays

From what I heard, Minecraft Bedrock probably still has VSync on by default (as of 1.20.51) and you have to go into config file to toggle it, it might be a problem with the VSync. If it's not, then there is probably a hard cap. Don't know if that is any use but hopefully yes

没用 关了垂直同步还是没用 尽管我的设备是iPhone 11 但它也应该显示比60FPS高的数字

It's useless to turn off vertical synchronization. Although my device is iPhone 11, it should also display numbers higher than 60FPS.

Adding another update with 3 photos since the super awesome moderators deemed my comments as ‘unhelpful’. As you can see the slider is CLEARLY set to 120FPS and yet, no change to the in-game fps. The worst part is that the game natively (on opening) loads at 120FPS but it’s capped within the game itself, making it choppy to the point where the game is unplayable. This has been an issue for over a year. Where are the devs? Fix your game please, I’m tired of waiting. I’ll even go as far as showing what it should look like on my Android phone where this bug does not persist.

I am on an M2 iPad Pro (the best apple device out right now) The picture displaying 120FPS is on my S24 Ultra. Whereas the iPad Pro only displays 60FPS.

To replicate the bug, download the Markers Texture Pack (you can find it on google) and then put a blue banner on an armour stand and adjust its position until you see fps counter.

To add to xiaolong's comment, apple devices hard cap their fps to the display's refresh rate so it will not show any fps above 60 even if this glitch is patched for his iphone. Nonetheless it is true that changing the vsync settings in the options.txt file to 0 does not allow us to have more than 60 fps on devices with a 120Hz display.

I am using ipad pro m2. The problem still persists. It's almost 2 years already.
I used performance hud (Metal hud) to see the fps. It's locked to 60 fps.

1.21, still having this issue on the iPad Pro (M2). Looks like they need to develop support for 120fps on the M-Chip linup.

Regarding the comment mentioning that Apple devices hard cap their FPS, that is not true. This seems to be more of a Minecraft problem instead of an Apple problem, so Mojang has to fix this and not Apple. There are many games that can get 120fps on Apple devices, which proves that Apple does not hard cap their FPS.

If it matters, Affect versions should include every Minecraft version.
