Mobs spawn in my deep dark

After the fix for MCPE-153524, mobs have stopped spawning in my Ancient City. This Anicent City was loaded in 1.19.0, before the fix for the camp structures not appearing in Ancient Cities. However, I noticed that mobs can still spawn in the surrounding Deep Dark, even though this shouldn't be possible.

How to replicate (this is how I did it)

-Place a repeating command block down, and add the command "execute at @e[type=(any hostile mob that spawns in caves)] run setblock ~ ~-1 ~wool 3

-Place a chain command block on top of it, and give it the command "/kill @e"

-These two command blocks combined will keep killing the mobs, but also mark the spots where they can spawn with light blue wool.

-Leave it running for abut 10 mins

-When you return, all the spots where mobs spawned should be marked with light blue wool.

Expected result:

None of the spots should be anywhere near any patches of Sculk or Ancient Cities

Actual result:

For my world, there were no spots inside the Ancient City, but there were spots that were on the surrounding Sculk blocks, which shouldn't be possible.

If this helps: I also noticed the Deep Dark music never plays when I'm in my Ancient City

Can you share the world seed and coordinates of the Ancient City affected?

Sorry for the late response, but the seed is -778267944, and the coordinates are 1248, -51, 1560.

I switched to trying to clear out a new Ancient City, but the same thing is now happening. For about a month it was fine, but now mobs have suddenly begun spawning in the Ancient City. I also noticed it only seems to happen in the parts of the city that stretch outside the Deep Dark biome.

Is this still an issue for you in the latest release version?
Do the steps provided still allow you to reproduce the problem?

Confirmed with the seed and observed results provided. Mobs spawn in some patches of skulk at the outer edges of the city. Note that in the ancient city in this example, there is also a functioning spider dungeon spawner directly under the portal at the center of the city, and there is a mineshaft extending into the city on one side.

Mobs are still spawning in deep dark and ancient cities as off 1.20.81 Hotfix.

The method provided to reproduce does still work. (I’m a technical player so I’ve used the same technique to attempt to map out the Raid “spawn-sphere” a while back.)
Obviously I used a different block because the format for placing coloured wool via commands has changed.
So wherever the chosen block shows up, a mob previously spawned there.
I think it helps to re-log though.
side-note: This bug might only affect older worlds (pre-1.19.0) but I cannot confirm since the bug is very inconsistent.

To help us understand the cause of the issue it would be helpful to have a copy of one of the original worlds the issue reproduces on, and know when this world was created originally, or at least what version introduced the bug.

The ticket will automatically reopen when you reply.

In my circumstance, the world I experience this bug was created on 27th November 2019. Village and Pillage, but before Buzzy Bees. I left the world alone when 1.18.0 released because I really wanted an Ancient City close to my spawn, so I waited it out till 1.19.0 released. Unfortunately my world file size is 300MB and world trimming is beyond me so I'm unable to provide a copy of my world. I realise this might not be particularly helpful, however hopefully the original reporter, or someone else, can support instead.

If your world is too large to attach, you can upload it to a file-sharing site like OneDrive or Dropbox and then share the download link.
