Villagers lose connection to beds and workstations

Started with update 1.20.40. Villagers randomly lose their connection to beds and work stations. When this happens they will not reconnect. Moving the bed or the workstation will sometimes allow the villager to connect again however if you remove the bed or workstation and place it in the same block as it was previous then the villager will still not connect to it. Effectively this permanently makes the original location of the bed or workstation broken, and the bed or workstation can never be in this location again. Makes player made villages very problematic.

I added a picture of the city to show the size of it. It had about 40 ish villagers in it. Not sure if the size and number of villagers has any bearing on this problem. However previous to update x.40 there was no problems with it.

another update. The size of the village seems to not have any impact. This also affects iron farms. Had to break all the beds to remove the village for the farm and then place them again to effectively create a new village to get the farm working again.

So I completely wiped out all the villagers and beds to remove the village. And started a new one with new villagers. That seems to reset the spots where the old beds became unusable. However I’m not sure if the new villagers will run into the Same issue over time. The village in question was also more of a city. There was probably close to 40 villagers in it. Not sure if the size of the village also plays a part in this issue.

it seems that wiping the village doesn’t necessarily fix the broken locations where bed/workstations stoped working. I initially thought it did however doesn’t seem to be the case. They are still broken. I needed to rearrange where beds and workstations are located to get them working. Even after a complete village wipe where I destroyed all the beds and workstations and started with new villagers.

What Shane described earlier is spot on. I had my librarians organized for years, each one had their unique location for their bed and workstation, and nothing was ever shuffled up.  They could reliably be found in the same bed or at the same workstation until this recent update. Even if I remove and replace the bed in the same location, the villager will not own it.  And this is a problem through all my villages.  I came constantly having to shuffle beds around just to get them to sleep.

Did this happen after zombifying and curing villagers?

Another issue is villagers far away will link to a work station. That isn't how villagers jobs are suppose to be. Is this a separate bug too? It always happens in bedrock!

Hi this also happened to me playing bedrock 1.20.81. on a local server,

I was in a game generated village, and i wanted to make a random villager into a librarian but he wouldnt pick up the job because he wouldnt detect any of the beds i had placed down even though the roof was higher than 3 blocks. I even waited several time throuout a whole night to see if he would sleep in a bed.

Finaly after a few days I finaly got him to sleep in a bed, and instead of becoming a librarian he became a farmer, even though the closest composter was at least 15 blocks away, so i tried braking all the composters around so he would take the correct job, but instead, one of the farmers became a librarian even though it had already been traded with and was level 3.

Now the villager keeps becoming a farmer or a normal villager randomly... and the old farmer is stuck as a level 3 librarian.

Can confirm this is still happening in 1.21. Villages appear to have become useless.
