Add-ons from Realms Plus or Marketplace Pass cannot be removed from worlds after the subscription expires, causing some worlds to be unplayable

When opening some worlds (in this case a world that I had on Realms but my subscription expired), it will not open, so then you work out to remove the add-on, but the game doesn’t allow me to remove one if it says ‘Missing dependencies’. It is one that was on Marketplace Pass, but my subscription expired. I don’t want to have to pay £6.13 to get onto a world that I own.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Get a Realms Plus or Marketplace Pass subscription

  2. Add an add-on from Realms Plus/Marketplace Pass to an existing world

  3. Wait for the subscription to expire

  4. Go into the Edit World screen on the world you added the add-on to and try removing the add-on from the world

  5. Observe it says ‘Missing Dependencies’ and does not allow the add-on to be removed

Expected Result:

The add-on can be removed from the world

Affected Platforms:

  • Xbox

  • Amazon Fire

  • Android

  • PlayStation

Have you tried removing the addon from the Behavior Packs menu rather than the Resource Packs menu?
