I was in my Minecraft server and trying to edit my books that were named and every time I would type, it wouldn't save. Then I tried typing in a random book and quill non named and it worked fine. I’m frustrated because I have a book and quill named rules and it won’t save when you try typing in it.
Steps to Reproduce:
Obtain a book and quill
Rename the book and quill in an anvil
Type some text in the book and quill
Close and reopen the book and quill
Observed Results:
The text is not saved.
Expected Results:
The text should be saved.

Yep. I play on Windows 10 Edition, just updated, and am now having this issue! Really hoping for a quick fix, as this is a big problem for my current project.
The same thing. I waited for this update so long, for to end my map. And now its… Its just stopped. Its such frustrating thing…
Now I need to spend a whole day just to rewrite all my books in only one map, or wait… Idk how long, few months? Just to get the fix. If the fix will be in the next version.

I got it too on Bedrock Edition with the newest update. All of my named coordinate books don’t save new text anymore, so I can’t keep writing down new coordinates for the landmarks I discover. I really don’t want to waste hours of time just to rewrite it all. Please fix soon!
I also ran into this issue when writing books, I was able to fix it by deleting the name for the book in the anvil and letting it default back to the item name.
It is very annoying to do so but probably better than rewriting tons of books. I hope this helps.
Same issue here. Was trying to put new coordinates for something I was making in my coordinates book, and the new coords text disappeared.
This also happened to me in my survival world; the books no longer store new information. I'm on an Android 14 tablet. I'd like to add another platform where this bug occurs.
