Certain resource packs are skipped (can't be loaded) when an add-on is activated

When loading into a world with the Mario Mashup resource pack selected, it would default into the normal textures. However, loading into the Mario Mashup world built in would cause the textures to load correctly. I have never seen this happen on any other version.

I have tried everything it told me to do, and despite all that it wouldn't work then.

This is likely due to using it in conjunction with other textures or add-ons. The old UI settings screen displayed a message indicating that it couldn't be used together...

Can confirm, affects 26.30, the Super Mario Mash-up Pack on Nintendo Switch is disallowed to have contents retextured by the game (“disabled”’s not my word for this issue) when other resource pack (including from an add-on) is loaded.

  1. With Minecraft open, click Play

  2. Click Edit on a world

  3. Scroll and click Resource Pack

  4. Activate the Super Mario Mash-up

  5. Activate an add-on

  6. Click Play

Expected result: Both the add-on and the Super Mario Mash-up are activated, like what the community port of the Super Mario Mash-up, or other imported / Marketplace resource pack does.

Observed result: Even if the Super Mario Mash-up Pack is put to first (and therefore it should replace all textures after the add-on had done so), it is still not allowed to retexture contents, but the resource pack from an add-on is allowed to add new contents (see below for Resource Packs from World settings opened from the Pause screen on a world).

Observed from Nintendo Switch.png

Translation: “Mario Mash-up” - first slot, “Claims Adjuster Add-On“ - second slot

The only workaround is to disable the add-on (if you prioritize the Mario Mash-up).

Per MCPE-190200 this also affects the resource pack from the Greek Mythology Mash-up and the Pattern texture pack.

For the previous comment with tons of “the mash-up pack” I meant the Super Mario Mash-up Pack

No more insane than porting it back to Switch by the way.

To import the patched pack in the signed in view, select the “Mario Mash-up resource port with patches.mcpack“ from previous comment, then click the download icon, once downloaded, depending which OS you play the game on, simply tapping the downloaded “Mario Mash-up resource port with patches.mcpack“ in the downloads tab or in the file manager (i.e. Files app on iOS) should import the patched resource pack, after that, click Play, then Edit, scroll and click Resource Packs, and activate the “Mario Mash-up”, if you’ll import it to the Switch, make sure you have an active Realms subscription and an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription (for how you could transfer a world, you can check Use Realms To Transfer A Minecraft: Bedrock Edition World To Another Device | Minecraft Help).

It’s called “Mario Mash-up resource port with patches.mcpack“, or in this link, “Mario Mash-up resource port with patches.zip“ because it also includes patches for MCPE-241611. The comment with the pack is posted at September 15.

To get it imported to the game (PC and mobile only as far as I know), make sure you name “Mario Mash-up resource port with patches” so it ends with .mcpack and not .zip (i.e. “Mario Mash-up resource port with patches.mcpack“) (in some case you’ll need to disable “Hide Extensions” so you could change extensions, it can also be done by adding .mcpack after .zip).

It’s caused because unfortunately as far as I know, bad actors like to compress files to skirt some anti-viruses (apart legitimate use like mine), and your antivirus just so found the file you’ve downloaded is compressed. You might need to click “Download anyway” or whatever button that would allow the port to be kept. Please also note it’s getting way off-topic to this issue.

I was using the same port on my iPad (the tablet) with no issues though.

If you refuse the port but still want the mash-up pack, then it might be time to vote https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360021759332--Licensed-Content-Super-Mario-mashup from Minecraft Feedback so this bug could be fixed that way.

Okay, there was a new update, and they didn’t do anything.
