Hi. Im a Redstoner and i do a lot of tnt cannons. this tnt cannon is shooting every 8 tick, or at least it should. it uses sand to push the tnt in every 8 tick. but i noticed that the sand is getting destroyed, which in a really older version like 1.19 or before when the mud blocks came out worked completely fine.
Info: The sand falls really unreliable. i think the main problem is when i noticed two sand are falling at the exact same time but are not getting placed at the exact same time, like 2 sand are falling in one single tick but then when they land only one of them is getting placed then the other but because there is a sand falling ontop its a bit unsync. and sand likes to fall somewhere else it even shouldnt like uncontrolable.
Ive dropped in the mcstructure of the cannon with a lever. just turn on the lever and see what happens, it is really easy to see whats going on there. sand behaves just too much like a mob or whatever
You can see how 2 sand blocks are falling in one tick but are not landing at the same tick which makes the ontop falling sandblock to unsync with below which makes it crash into the under still falling sandblock.

The attached structure appears to be incomplete. The redstone line that gets pulse when the lever is on does not connect to anything.
Please attach a complete build that shows the issues you are having. It would be most helpful if you could attach a world save or video clip with the simplest possible test case to show the issue.
The structure you made for the newer report is helpful, but making a separate report is not helpful. That is why I moved the structure here.
Developers do not look at reports until Mojang QA can confirm specific steps to reproduce an unexpected result. Volunteer staff like me help to clarify and evaluate reports. I understand that you are frustrated by an ongoing problem with your builds, but that does not mean a developer could give a fast and direct solution.
At this point I cannot reproduce the falling blocks breaking with the tnt cannon. I understand what your video shows, but it does not happen for me when I load the structure and run it.
With the sand tower, I cannot reproduce the sand breaking when I flip the sand gate once.
I can reproduce the sand breaking if I toggle the fence gate rapidly (as you suggested), however, I do not believe that is a bug. When you toggle the fence gate rapidly, the piston pushes sand out of the tower rapidly. Then the falling sand does not have enough time to fall before the piston arm extends again. The first falling sand is stopped by the piston arm while all of the falling sand above has more time to accelerate. With greater falling speed, some sand will move through sand that has landed before the landed sand becomes a block. Then when these two sand try to become blocks, one of them has to break. You can see that happen more clearly with colored concrete powder.
The time needed for a single falling block to fall one block in distance after you break or move the block underneath it, is 9 ticks. Therefore, the piston needs to be retracted for at least 10 ticks for reliable falling.
Looking closer at your video, the build you show is different from the build in the structure file. In the picture below I have circled a sticky piston + observer that is not present in the structure file. The sticky piston + observer are giving a block update to the gravel that I marked with an X. Maybe the block update makes the gravel start to fall 1 tick too soon, causing gravel above to accelerate too much?
I found out another solution which defenetily works, sorry for the mediafire link the video uploading here does not work for me http://www.mediafire.com/file/1fusnkormlgqx1q/0604.mp4
