So the patch notes for the new update indicated that they fixed withers spawning in the nether fortress. However, my world still does not.
My world was synced, added to a Realm, and has been on there ever since Minecraft's day of release. The nether fortress has remained empty ever since I synced the world. The new update did not spawn any withers in my fortress. In fact, the fortress is completely empty (including empty blaze spawners).
No i can not reverse the world 5 months and lose everything we got.

I have a very old world which was not spawning withers and blazes (outside of mob spawners). Since installing 1.2.9, this has been corrected for me, so there must be something going on for you that makes it different. We need to try to find out what it is.
Setting the difficulty to peaceful and back would be a very helpful experiment. Also, it would be helpful if you could upload a copy of your world so the developers could see what's happening in it that makes it different.
How do I upload a copy of the world and where? If theyre gona look at it they might as well look at all the 10+ bugs ive found while theyre on there.

Not sure how console works but reinstall it. this helped me on windows 10 as Wither skeletons never spawned either after update until i reinstalled. also try and put peaceful mode on to get rid of all hostile mobs and switch back to normal difficulty. If your mob cap is reached no new mobs will spawn. hope this helps.
Try changing to peaceful mode first
