[MCPE-33382] Cannot unlock achievement

I got this achievement with my first hidden treasure chest. Was kind of hard to miss... For whatever reason, whenever I get an achievement in Minecraft it causes my entire screen to go black except for the achievement unlocked notice across the bottom. Not good when I'm in the middle of a swarm of monsters or a single air bubble away from taking drowning damage.

Just wanted to note my experience with this. I unlocked Me Gold on 11/11/2018, but have entered an ocean monument on 12/3/2018 and a woodland mansion last week found on maps acquired from trading with Cartographers and neither one unlocked the Treasure Hunter achievement. On current release (1.8.102.0) of Minecraft for Win10.

Tried it again last night with the map selected on the hotbar and it worked - achievement unlocked (Treasure Hunter). I typically hold a map in my off hand - maybe that's the problem?

This happens in 1.9.0.5 when holding any item (map, totem, arrows) in your offhand, not just the map you are using to unlock the achievement

Just to be clear, does the achievement unlock if the player is holding the map in the main hand? And does holding an item in the offhand as well specifically prevent the achievement from being gained?

Yes to both of those. Holding items in the offhand preventing the achievement from unlocking might be a separate issue or only affect the beta (or both).

Ok, because the map does need to be held in the main hand in order for the achievements to unlock - having tested this again testing having an item in the off-hand didn't prevent the achievement from registering, although there might be a delay in the notification.

I had this issue yesterday. I may have been holding the map in off hand. What is the specific requirement ? If i went back again with an empty inventory an open the same chest would i get the achievement ? Does that chest need to be clear of items ?

This bug is fixed in the latest beta version, and the fix will be included in a future update when that is ready for full release (no specific date can be given). We will leave this ticket open as a point of reference until the fix has been fully released.

Still affecting me in 1.14.1, I've opened two buried treasures. Both times I had an item in my offhand though the first time I opened the chest. Upon opening a chest the second time with just the treasure map in my main hand, I still did not get the achievement. It's especially weird because I did get the Moskstraumen (Activate a Conduit) achievement upon activating a conduit.

OK. Good news to report. Achievement finally decided to unlock for me. The only difference this time around was that I held down SHIFT when selecting the items from the treasure chest. Previously, I was just clicking and dragging the items into my inventory.

Not sure if that made the difference, but after numerous attempts, that's what sealed the deal for me.

Still broken, just found, as in today 5 Aug 21, treasure chest using map for the second time and achievement still did not pop! Needs a fix now, it has been long enough.

I’ve had this problem since day one playing on Xbox one version. I’ve achieved this many times, in many different worlds and has never popped. Please fix this, after hundreds of hours playing your game, we deserve it!
