Items get stuck on hoppers they can't stack with in water streams

I've recently been building an automatic storage system but I have noticed that the items get stuck on around the 6 or 7th hopper in the water stream even though the ites can't enter those hoppers, I don't know whether this is intentional or not but considering I have seen it work on java edition I believe it not to be intentional, tell me if I'm wrong
I'd be willing to attach a clip if you want me to.

Please attach a photo of the setup you are using. If a possible, please provide a video so we can understand the problem you are having. ThanksπŸ˜€

I've attached a video of it happening, I've mostly been experimenting with sorting systems so i dont have a proper picture but the glitch is still shown here hopefully this helps thanks.

Sorry, but the link or vdeo itself does not appear in the ticket for some reason. Could you reupload it?

sorry, just realised the file was too large it should be attached here now, I had to cut it short so I'll just have to say that all of those items that got stuck didn't pass later on and it happened more as time went on, probably them stacking. the hoppers had separate items if that wasn't included as well

I am experiencing the same issue. I have a dual skeleton/zombie spawner xp farm. All drops go into hoppers which go to a dropper, that drops items into a water elevator, which then flows over 3 hopper sorter cells. One hopper cell is for bones, one for arrows, one for rotten flesh, and then anything else will drop into lava. Just bones and arrows do fine, but rotten flesh falls onto the arrow hopper and just bounces there, but won't continue to the last water stream above the rotten flesh hopper. Any bows also get caught on the same hopper. It is the second to last, it is the sixth block from the source block.Β

This happens more for items, like Leather, for example. In my experience anyway. The items get stuck literally on the inside edge of the hoppers. The water is unable to push it through. I added a screenshot with arrows. This happens in Java as well, on occasion. For some reason I can place comparators/repeaters on top the hoppers to make a nice even flow, it works then. Haven't seen any items get stuck, yet. <-really expensive fix though... Maybe the hit-boxes need to be adjusted? Items and hopper?

Still an issue according to MCPE-67722 and MCPE-75833.

In the video attached by the OP,

, the reason items are falling into the hoppers rather than floating on top of the water is that the dropper gives them random momentum. When they start with upward momentum and then fall back down, they fall through the water and into the top of the hopper, where they get stuck in the hopper hitbox.

This issue was raised previously in MCPE-15694. That ticket was resolved "Cannot Reproduce" because it was not updated for over a year, but it appears from comments that the issue may be intended behavior. Also, the same issue was reported on Java Edition at MC-98776 and MC-99711, which have been resolved "Working as Intended."

In limited testing I've found that if you eject items from a dropper into a bubble column and let them rise up into the source water at the end of the trough, and have a full block over top of the source water to stop them flying into the air, then they will flow across the top of the water stream. I have also heard that if you align items on the edge of the water flow so that they go along the edge of the hoppers that are at full height, then they will not get caught in the hoppers.
