No fuel other than coal will be burned by a furnace to smelt items. All seemed to work in the 1.10.0.4 beta, but now, lava buckets, dried kelp blocks, and bowls are all being left unused.

Do you mean the blast furnace? I had this issue with the blast furnace, but not the regular one. I thought it was intended.

I was not able to reproduce this problem in 1.11.0.1 using Windows 10. All three fuels, as well as coal, coal blocks, charcoal, sticks, doors, boats, and signs were able to smelt cobblestone.
Were you trying to smelt sandstone and stone, as you were in MCPE-42578? I notice that these cannot be smelted with any fuel, so maybe these were the issues you meant to copy from the other ticket. If you'd like to update the summary and description to say that sandstone and stone cannot be smelted, I will confirm it for you.
