When attempting to hit swimming, hostile, Drowned, (especially the baby drowned) players often miss about 2/3 the time due to the fact that their swimming animation doesn't match their hitbox, this has led to thousands more deaths in minecraft globally, this could easily be prevented, and would save minecrafters from millions of deaths around the cube.

Still exists in 1.12.0 on Windows 10, on both land and in boats. It's as if their head is not a part of their hitbox or something, meaning the player cannot melee it without taking damage. [Hitbox example while in boats|https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiKFYpo1aWE]

Well, I wanted to bring that up because I noticed it as well, but the underwater hitbox issue the post is originally about still exists in 1.12.0. (i don't know how to tag you)
