Dungeon spawners don’t stop spawning

I found a spider dungeon while mining and quickly put a torch on the spawner. The first spider that spawned didn’t attack me, so I just went to the chests. I started to collect the loot when another spider spawned and attacked me. I killed that spider, and the one from before just in case. I put a second torch on the spawner and left, but as I was leaving a third spider spawned.

Perhaps you don't know that in order to disable a spawner you have to surround it with torches on all sides which the block directly faces and on the top. Then mobs from that spawner will no longer spawn regardless of air blocks with low light levels near the spawner.

I can confirm this is happening. I created a new world (seed: pot22) I found a double spawner in a cave not too far from spawn (skeleton and spider.) I placed torches on both, only to have multiple mobs continue to spawn in from both at a rate as if they were still in total darkness.

this issue is ongoing. also this isnt the first report of this issue. it was imediatly noticed by people who under stand spawners well enough that they turn them into monster farms that can be activated with the flip of a switch... that said... my spawner farm is still spewing out zombies regardless of light level and spawner cap...

Yes, this has definitely been broken between the iOS 1.10 and the 1.11 release. On 1.11 you can fill the whole spawner with torches and the mobs still spawn. I have never had to place a torch on every face of the spawner to stop the spawns in previous release on iOS. A single torch on one face would do it!

Just discovered it is a known bug Therefore this is a duplicate of MCPE-42427 known bug. You have to light the area to above 11 to get the spawner to stop - evidently.
