The villagers do not give emerald when trading.

This happens to me too. If you trade with a villager by clicking the “trade” button on the right of the interface(just to the left of the question mark) the trade works and you get the item after you trade. But if you click any of the buttons on the left of the interface, for example, one emerald for 2 lily pads, you get scammed, the trade takes your emeralds but gives you nothing.
Trading with the villagers for emerald works when you manualy insert the item you want to trade into the empty slot. Pressing trade will give you the emerald, or grab the emerald out of the slot.
When you want to trade emerald for something they have, i can only grab the item that is selected first in the list on the left side of the UI.
Don't click on anything on the left side of the trading interface. You will get scammed.
Please vote for MCPE-46041, I made a ticket explaining exactly how to reproduce and how to get all the items instead of losing them.
I am not currently having this issue on the latest beta I am having a desperate issue with once the villagers run out of an item it never replenishes
I'm seeing the same thing as Ben - no matter how long I stay in a village (several consecutive nights), the villagers don't seem to get more inventory to trade any more - once they're out, they're out, seemingly forever, in build 1.13.x.
I assume that will need to be a new issue. I looked but didn't see an issue like this posted yet, so I made MCPE-48319

However, this issue is a Duplicate of MCPE-46041.
That ticket has already been resolved as Fixed. The fix will arrive in the next version or is already included in the latest development version of the game, you can check the Fix Version/s field in that ticket to learn more.

They are not giving me anything that I am trading for. I trading a wandering traveler for slime and he took all my emeralds and the slime balls flashed into my hot bar for a split second and then disappeared. And I traded a stone cutter for bricks and they also did not appear in my inventory but emeralds were gone.
