After coming out of the water (ocean & river), underwater music will continue to play until the music ends. This is very disturbing because just imagine the player only goes into the ocean 20 seconds then out of the water where the player must wait a few minutes for the underwater music to end and then continue survival/creative music.

Interestingly enough, if you go into a river (or other water) on Java Edition 1.15.2, the current music stops, but underwater music generally does not start for several minutes. To my knowledge, both Java and Bedrock have timed (not continuous music), but I also tested on Bedrock 1.16.0, and the underwater music starts immediately after going underwater. So while the issue is present on both editions, it is much more tolerable on Java Edition since the underwater music won't actually start unless you're underwater for a long period of time, whereas on Bedrock, just going underwater for a second starts the music.
As a both a Bedrock and Java player, I can confirm that the music does continue to play outside the water in both versions. The problem is that in bedrock edition, the aquatic music will play whenever you go underwater for more than a second. This means you get aquatic music when going up bubble elevators, falling in a lake or briefly swimming underwater. The aquatic music is good music, but there are only three tracks that play whenever you go underwater for even a few seconds. Java edition waits until you are in the water for a fair amount of time to play the music, and it doesn't get rid of normal overworld music when you enter the water.
This is true. I really miss the classic Minecraft songs, as every time I go underwater, which is a lot in my world as I have a lot of bubble elevators, it cuts out the current song playing and switches to one of the new ocean ones, which aren't bad, but they get REALLY ANNOYING. I just want Haggstrom and Subwoofer Lullaby back Mojang, PLEASE.
This is most definitely not a bug. The underwater music is programmed to keep playing until the song ends, whether you're underwater or not. This is because a sudden stop in music could be jarring. Also, the soundtrack to this game is amazing. Sometimes I go underwater for a second just so I can vibe to Shuniji, Axolotl, or Dragon Fish. They're all great songs.
I love Axolotl, Dragon Fish, and Shunji. Truly, I do. But boy do they get repetitive when you have an island base like I do. I really hope for a fix soon, it's a small quality of life change but one that can really impact player experience.
I really hope this one doesn't get ignored because the bug to fix is in the comments and not in the report.
This is exactly how it works on Java Edition.
