The bug
Attempting to provoke and endermite while being invisible will cause it to remain neutral and not attack the player as intended.
How to reproduce:
1. Spawn or find an endermite
2. Have the invisibility effect
3. Attempt to provoke it
→ ❌ The endermite does not retaliate.

This is a bigger issue than I thought, if it is already locked onto a target, hitting it will not cause it to change the target, basically acting passive towards anything if it is already locked to another target. Easy way to tell is to summon and enderman and endermite. If it targets the enderman hit it, while if it targets you, allow the enderman to hit it.
It is a bug, if another mobs hits the endermite whilst the endermite is attacking a player, the endermite will not retaliate.
